Pokerstars.com has a new sit and go tournament leaderboard that they call the Battle of the Planets. This tournament leaderboard is based on weekly results from multi player sit and go tournaments on Pokerstars. The prizes for this promo will total over 3 million for the year, and will give many players a chance to claim a portion of the prize pool. The weekly prize pools are broken down into 8 divisions based on the buy in of the sit and go, and each of the 8 divisions are split into two groups. The two groups are for low volume and high volume players which gives both the casual player and the seasoned pro a chance to cash in. PokerStars Tournament Leader Board

July 24th, 2008

The TLB (Tournament Leader Board) is one of the most widely known and appreciated promotions in online poker.  PokerStars is home to some of the best online tournaments, and the TLB is a great way for players to compete for the title of best online tournament player.

Players are awarded Tournament Leader Board Points each time that they place in the Top 15% of a regular multi-table tournament.  The number of points awarded depends on a number of factors including the buy-in amount for the tournament, the number of entries in the tournament, and the position in which you finish.

There are three different Tournament Leader Boards.  The first is the weekly tournament leader board which counts your 10 best results for the week.  The winner plays a Team Poker Stars Pro at the end of the week for $1,000, and if the Pro player wins then an additional $1,000 is added to next week’s prize pool.  The monthly TLB takes your best 20 results for the month, and the top 300 players will compete for $50,000 in prizes.  The yearly TLB takes your best 100 results for the year.  The player winning this will claim a five stamp PokerStars passport which includes buy-ins and expenses to five of the biggest tournaments around the world.  There are also hundreds of thousands of additional cash and prizes awarded.
